Urea Moulding Compound | UF DuroPlast | Thermosetting Plastic

1. General Introduction

Urea Molding Compound is a urea-formaldehyde resin reinforced with highly refined cellulose. It is modified with special-purpose additives, pigments, cure regulators, and lubricants. It exhibits good melt flow. It provides high hardness, glossy surface, excellent scratch resistance, and excellent chemical resistance.

It provides excellent electrical properties and resistance against surfactants & weak bases. It is suitable for processing by compression molding.


Urea Molding Compound is recommended for

  • electrical accessories,

  • sanitary products,

  • caps

  • and closures.

The molded products can be recycled and exhibit good UV stability with good moisture resistance. Its shelf life is 12 months below 20°C

Urea molding compounds are available in an unlimited range of colors. Produced from Urea-formaldehyde resin and highly refined alpha-cellulose, urea molding compounds create scratch-resistant lustrous moldings that are highly resistant to detergents, oils, and greases.As compared to thermoplastics, urea molding compounds exhibit:

  • Significantly better surface hardness
  • Self-extinguishing flame-resistant characteristics that will not support flame or melt
  • Environmentally friendly raw material components that do not contain Halogens, flame-retardant chemicals, or organic solvents
  • Superior chemical resistance
  • Excellent electrical properties, including current tracking and arc quenching
